Diviso by Roebuck Watch Compay

Inspiration

The inspiration for the Diviso is very clear. On the Roebuck website, Guy mentions he took inspiration from around the globe, in particular, Round Rock Texas a place clearly close to his heart. I like it when a brand owner to show this kind of passion for the place they reside and take design queues from the area. It’s clear from the first glance at the watch that the owner loves the design aspect of creation and playing with the light and texture but I’ll get onto this later on.

Case

Some designers are not bold enough to make a Diviso. A crossover watch that covers features of two styles of watch, the Diviso slips effortlessly into the drive arena but has great water resistance of 10 ATM. Design queues are evident that Guy has a history in architecture and that the watch has been well thought out.

A case constructed by what Guy calls surgical grade 361L stainless steel, this is supposed to ensure that the case stays in tip-top condition and prevent corrosion. The case design has a real structural form with brushed and highly polished surfaces. On either side of the watch, the highly polished area frames the brushed area and offers a really nice contrast. On the caseback is a laser-etched image of Round Rock water tower. However, I personally would have liked this to have been deeper given the excellent case as a whole. At 2 and 4 o’clock are two crowns the control for the chapter ring at 2 and at for the crown to set the time.

The case is well proportioned with dimensions of 42mm diameter, 49.77mm lug – lug, 11.97mm thick, and 99g in weight. This makes the watch feel comfortable on my 7″ wrist.

A carbon fibre insert in the bezel frames the inner rotating chapter ring of 60 minutes. A shinny red triange starts the chapter ring followed by baton minute maker and five-minute makers 05 – 55. Although this has a nice click when actioned it, unfortunately, moves to easily for me and I’d have liked more resistance.

Dial

The dial on the Diviso is excellent. The ribbed corrugated look really does capture the light and is enhanced further by the highly polished indexes and baton hands. Arabic numerals at 12 o’clock only follow by single batons and double batons at 3, 6, and 9, both hands and indexes are filled with BG-W9 Super-luminova.  A central vertical column of matt green divides and breaks up the corrugated look up but delivers a focal point as the watch glistens in natural light. The logo resides below the 12 o’clock and is printed on the green and is very shape and crisp.

Please note that the canvas watch strap in the second picture in the watch gallery was provided Ritche Watch Bands.

Packerging

Personally, I’m really impressed with the travel case the watch arrived in. A black cigar styled case offers great protection in transit.

Final Thoughts

Would I buy this watch? Yes, I would buy the watch as it offers something I don’t have in my collection. The design of the watch is excellent and the watch is well built from excellent materials. At $550 plus postage and packaging the watch resided in the area Spinnaker resides and this watch is good value for the money. The watch is comfortable and looks great on the wrist. I personally love the way the light bounces around the dial and I’m sure anyone that purchases the Diviso will feel the same!
